t's official. After teasing the automotive industry with several design element graphics, Bugatti has recently revealed the all-new Bolide hypercar. The Bugatti Bolide is a track-focused, extremely fast, and incredibly light machine which includes astronomical numbers within it's spec sheet.
Bugatti Bolide Specs
The Bugatti Bolide is a one-off model developed exclusively for the track. The car's power-to-weight ratio is a staggering 0.67, the dry weight sits at 2,734lbs, and the quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine pushes out a hefty 1,825 horsepower and 1,364 lb-ft of torque. Apparently computer simulations estimate the Bolide's top speed at around 310 mph, and lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a mind-blowing sub 5:24 time.
Unfortunately Bugatti only has simulated performance data, but they say 0-60mph should take around 2.1 seconds, and 0-124mph should take under 4.4 seconds. Bugatti has been known to break top speed records of the last couple decades, but sometimes even only computer simulated numbers might even be more reputable than the "video proof" of the SSC Tuatara top speed record.
Design Elements
The exterior of the Bolide is truly otherworldly. It features X-shaped headlights that have never even been remotely seen before, and taillight elements featuring the X design style as well. The car is many dips, vents, and extraordinary lines that make that car look straight out of a sci-fi film. Bugatti boasts a morphable outer skin for the intake scoops, allowing live dynamics to change based on the speed the vehicle is moving at. At maximum downforce, you can expect nearly 4,000 pounds at the rear wing, and over 1,700 pounds at the front spoiler.
The car features a carbon monocoque with two dihedral doors at either side, surrounding polycarbonate windows, and adjustable pedals and passenger foot rest.
In what was stated as an 8 month development period for the Bolide, the track-oriented hypercar does not have a price tag at this current time because it's a one-off build. However, Bugatti hasn't decided whether to put this technical masterpiece into production, so us writers and readers will unfortunately have to wait before we place our deposits...
